Obama

Obama is represented through grassroots expressed in the curved form of his office. This form signifies the vast number and varied social background of his supporters. The building is left open to his supporters without a roof and through large glass walls. The curved walls of his ‘supporters’ also protects Obama from his opponents as they wrap around the central office building. The walls of his supporters was inspired by the roots of trees. The shape from above also draws upon the aboriginal sign for campfire - a sense of community - here Obama is at the centre. Red, blue, black and white are used representing Obamas’ campaign colours and the American flag. Obamas’ office floor texture symbolizes different communities merging.

Obamas’ elevator signifies the power behind the community of his supporters: the power of the masses, that come together to lift him up and support him at their centre. The texture portrays the striving power of determination in achieving ones aims, built up from different threads - members or social groups of the community.

Prada

Pradas office is composed of angular lines that represent the certainty and imposition of Muccia Pradas’ designs on fashion. Situated above the masses, which Obamas’ office is located within, they look up to Pradas designs as the height of luxury, wealth and fashion while Prada reaches up for new ideas. Therefore her office is based on a crystal, a prised possession. She is a private woman and makes up her own current styles rather than going with the trends, therefore her office is out of reach and enclosed to give her privacy and allow her own creativity to emerge and be undisturbed. Small triangular and rectangular windows prevent the crowds from looking in or influencing her designs while she still receives natural sunlight. From the outside her office appears to glow with the creativity at work inside adding to the crystal like nature of the buildings design. The texture on the floor of her office continues the theme of her imposing designs.

Pradas elevator is an extension of her office, the power of manufacturing and setting trends, allows her to impose her designs and styles on the environment around her.

Meeting Place/Dining Table

The meeting place is a collaboration of Obamas image that Prada has stylised into a pattern that forms the bridge and meeting place between their offices. Both Obama and Prada represent current people of power, though their titles change, of president and noted fashion designer, will change with time. The stylised pattern of Obamas current popularity by the currently popular designer Prada is a demonstration of the current forces of power that are currently in style.

The Dining table represents the masses of supporters that surround Obama and hold Prada in high regard. Obama is rooted within them while Prada and her designs appear to float above and beyond them.

Madonna Obama Prada Mashup

Barack Obama has been elevated to Gandhi like royal presence by Madonna on her “Sticky and Sweet Tour“. Love it or hate it, her inspired sexually charged power has brought this controversy all the way to Milan and on to Buckingham Palace. At a meeting with Miuccia Prada some months back, Madonna stirred up a newsworthy Obama line for the fall collection. Launched at the Milan Fashion Week on Tuesday this line has exploded into fashion. While the First Lady has been the knockout trademark of the White House on fashion since years back, president Obama now has the magic.

The Obamas had their first meeting with the Queen on Wednesday. President Obama was puzzled by the Queen’s scarf - a Prada-Obama first from Milan Fashion Week. Somewhere in the neighbourhood of $2,500, this one off royal-watchers said it was especially brought from Miuccia Prada’s Milan show for the Queen for her meeting with the president. A tad self-conscious Obama signed her scarf when asked over the exchange of gifts. Madonna is not by her self in voting for president Obama.
